Jesus said, Pay Attention to How You Listen
Jesus said, Others have labored, and you have entered into their labor.
So it is that I, Hepzibah, daughter of the prophet and the prophetess, headless but not out of my mind, have paid attention to how I listen. When I speak, I speak only what I have heard. Like my parents before me, I speak again, because repetition is the soul of memory.4 My listening is my labor, to hear the labor of those before me, and join the Great Listening, Shema, so now hear the Word of the Lord:”
Why do the rulers of the world seek to bring Armageddon? Have I not said in every possible way that I do not desire violence and murder but the care of the widow, the orphan, the stranger? Do you think I take pleasure in the bombing of little girls at school? Do you think I have asked you to rip people from their cars and throw them to the ground and murder them? Do you think that is my Law and my Order? Do you think I asked you to withhold your aid from the starving, the homeless, the sick?
Oh my people
Oh my people
you have surely been deceived, again. You have fallen for the tricks of the Deceiver.
You have let your own knowing be buried beneath you and forgot to ask the ground to tell you what it knows. You have accepted the story where women are the origin of evil, and so cut yourself off from a wellspring of Life.
Come back, my people, come back.
There is water for you to drink, living water.
You can yet be healed.
Stop! Turn! Reckon with your crimes. Your world is built on slavery, on theft of land, on a distorted version of my holy Way. Yet I will not bring disaster on you, saith the Lord. I do not wish for your blood to run through the rubble you make. I am the Lord. The Prince of Peace become the King. And I do not lose in the end. You are forgiven, so Stop! Turn! Reckon with your collective crimes. I do not lose. Nothing can come between us. I Love You. Lift up your heads, stand up. The kingdom is among you, indeed it is very near.
And if you cannot hear my voice over the clamor of war, remember this: even the stones will cry out. The stones know My Name. Listen to them!
