Community Counts: Pastor Dave Greenlund’s Church that Acts

Tim Keller once asked, “If you and your church were to disappear off the face of the Earth tomorrow, would anyone in the community around you notice you were gone? And if the community did notice, would they say, ‘We are really going to miss them?’” Enter Pastor Dave Greenlund of Peace Lutheran Church in Lauderdale Minnesota. For nearly 20 years, Greenlund and his parishioners have been making headlines by going into people’s houses to do free renovation jobs—anything from changing electrical outlets, fixing busted toilets, painting a house, to fixing the entire roof.

In this interview, Pastor Dave shares his interesting story and the reasons he feels called to lead a church that the community loves. He imparts an enthusiasm that is catchy—and churches everywhere need that.
